JooMyFamily
JooMyFamily allows the decentralized administration of a genealogical data base that contains the relationships of a large number of persons. JooMyFamily copies the functionaliy of the standalone system phpMyFamily. Features:
* Detailed data on persons (birth and death, parents, siblings spouse and children)
* Configurable display restriction for living persons
* Sortable and searchable list of all entries
* List of upcoming anniversaries(Birthdays etc) in a configurable interval
* Internationalisierung according to Joomla 1.5 Standard (languages de, en, fr included). Developed by Sébastien Maerker, Andreas Jägle, Timo Grimm, Andreas Heck und Philip Stöhrer for media::lab

First: Thanks for developing this component!
Following recommendations fort the next release:
1. Installation problems (error messages):
- French language package can’t be installed
- JFolder can’t be deleted after installation
2. According to description the component is multi lingual. But in Backend the language can’t be changed (default: English). The displayed language in Frontend is identical with the language you have selected by Joomla installation.
3. The Website displayed the information „marriage: unknown”, but you can’t record data regarding marriage in Backend.
4. The filled out comment field in Backend will not be displayed on the Website.
5. Joint working in Frontend is not possible, because you have to use the Backend.
6. You have to enter complete date of birth and date of death. It is not possible to realise only the year of death for example.
7. It is not possible to enter only the place of birth and place of death. If there is no date available, the place will not be displayed on the website.
8. The place of death is to be termed as “death_reason” in Backend. Very confused.
9. The component decided whether a person is dead or alive (for example if the person is older than 100 years). In this case, the person will not be displayed on the website. Unfortunately it is no possibility to display these ancestors and there is no information, that the ancestor will not be displayed.
10. In Backend only the name is listed. Thereby a detailed identification of the person is not possible. That’s a big problem in case of bigger family trees with many persons with the same name.
11. Husband and wife will not be displayed together. To have an idea who’s the husband or wife you must have a look on the data of the children.
12. The specified sorting in Backend by „persons“ and „ID“ are not working.
The above information should be constructive feedback, not critique. The idea of JooMyFamily is good and should be carried forward … and sorry for my bad English; I’m not a native speaker but I hope you can understand what I mean.
