ccNewsletter - Joomla! 1.5 Newsletter Component
ccNewsletter is a free Joomla! 1.5 Native Open Source newsletter component. It is the greatly improved offspring of spsNewsletter.
It has a few great new functions like:
* Synchronization with Joomla! User database
* Synchronization with Virtuemart Silent Users database (!!)
* Enable/disable subscribers
* Auto responder/acknowledgment e-mails
* New enhanced module with 3 layouts: mootools, highslide and normal
* Easy upgrading from spsNewsletter
* And more great details for better usability
Upgrading from spsNewsletter:
Just install the ccNewsletter component in your Joomla! website next to spsNewsletter. Check to see that ccNewsletter has copied all your subscribers, configuration details and newsletters. If so, just delete the old spsNewsletter component and module.
Translations:
Dutch translations are on the way. Once installed you can find the translation files here:
administrator/langauges/en-GB
languages/en-GB
If you translate anything, pleas send the files to extensions [at] chillcreations [dot] com
Note:
Please make sure you have menu items linked to the “subscribe” and “unsubscribe” parts of the component to ensure complete functionality (unsubscribe link won’t work otherwise!).
Known issue:
Using background images in your HTML emails will only work if they are hosted on the same website as the component is installed.

Hello,
Thank you, once again, for the wonderful CCNewsletter component, it’s working really smoothly for quite a while. Two questions:
1. A few months ago you acknowledged there was a bug concerning the subscription part, which turns the layout of the subscription into a mess. (I use a workaround, which is not as neat as a ‘normal’ page would be; it opens in a new page, ‘outside’ the website) Is there already a fix for that?
2. How can I translate this subscription page? (in Dutch, it will be). I mean, where can I find the file? Already looked in Administrator/language, but couldn’t find the proper file. (I suppose _ccnewsletter.ini isn’t the right one? There I couldn’t find the texts to be translated)
Best regards,
Alex Groothedde

“Known issue:

This is incorrect. No image will ever get attached regardless of where it is hosted. Please fix this, otherwise this newsletter component is awful as it looks no better than the built in mass mailer.
Cheers,
V.
